1. Acceptance of terms

By using Mueen or creating an account, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms. If you use the platform on behalf of an educational institution, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Account and teacher responsibility

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. You agree to provide accurate information, to use the platform only for legitimate educational purposes, and to obtain the necessary permissions before uploading any data about your students.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use the platform in violation of the law, to attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or data, to upload harmful or unlawful content, or to disrupt the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these terms.

4. Content and ownership

Content you upload (quizzes, questions, student data, grades) remains owned by you or your institution. You grant us a limited license to process this content for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you. The platform itself, its software, and its trademarks remain our property.

5. Software and intellectual property

All software that makes up the platform — including the scanning and grading engine and any code delivered to your browser or device — is our confidential and proprietary property, protected by intellectual-property laws. Use of the platform grants you no rights in this software. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from it, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, deobfuscate, or otherwise attempt to extract or reuse its source code, algorithms, or structure, including from any compiled, minified, or bundled form delivered to a client. You may not remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices.

6. AI features

Some features may rely on AI models to provide suggestions or summaries. These outputs are assistive and may contain errors; the final responsibility for reviewing and approving grades rests with the teacher. Your data is not used to train AI models.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The platform is provided “as is” without express or implied warranties regarding scanning accuracy or uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the platform, and the teacher remains responsible for verifying grades before officially approving them.

8. Changes to the terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with the last-updated date, and your continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
